I *lock* U, stickers, 10,5 x 5,5 cm each, Paris, 2011

At the sight of Pont des Artes, Paris, I had trouble making the connection between lock and love. Tradition has it, that lovers write their names on a lock, and hang it there (photos below).

The lock first brings in my mind imprisonment, chains, something not free at all. Whereas love brings me contrary images, something free that flows.

Thus, I created these stickers, referring to the well known sign ‘I love U’, trying to underline or question, the connection between love/lock.
